Frequently asked Questions

What is a realistic target weight to set?

The key to success is to be realistic and set achievable goals. It's worth checking your BMI first, which is the medically preferred method of weight classification, based on your weight and height. There are free BMI calculator resources on the Celebrity Slim website or alternatively you can speak to your local pharmacist. We would recommend targeting a maximum 10% weight loss from your starting weight. Once you have reached your target, if you still have weight to lose, you can always set yourself a new target to aim for.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

It is very difficult to predict how much weight each individual can expect to lose, as there are many different variables that can affect the outcome. These variables include your BMR, exercise, previous eating habits, how much weight you have to lose, and how well you stick to the Programme. On average our customers lose anywhere between 1 and 8lbs each week. This is the most safe and sustainable form of weight loss.

Is Celebrity Slim safe?

Celebrity Slim Shakes are simply a delicious high protein food. They are formulated using a blend of common food ingredients and are perfectly safe for use by normal healthy adults.

Is using Celebrity Slim a weight loss diet that is safe for children?

Celebrity Slim is classified as a weight loss dietary food and is designed to be used by people over 16 years of age. While all of the ingredients used in Celebrity Slim are natural, we would not recommend its consumption by children under 16 years.

Can I follow the programme if I am lactose intolerant?

One of the ingredients in the Celebrity Slim products is 'skimmed milk powder' which does contain lactose, therefore the products are not suitable if you are lactose intolerant.

Can I follow the programme if I have Coeliac Disease?

Some of the flavours used in the Celebrity Slim Programme may contain traces of gluten so if you have this condition the Celebrity Slim Programme would not be suitable.

How can you lose weight fast if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding?

Because the Celebrity Slim diet programme is based on a reduced kilojoule diet, we do not recommend it for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding as the diet may not contain enough nutrients to support the needs of both mum and baby.

Can I replace all my meals with Celebrity Slim to lose weight faster?

Some dieters use meal replacement shakes as their only food to lose weight quickly. While this may get you slim in the short term, this diet is not a balanced way to eat for any longer than a few days. We always recommend combining Celebrity Slim shakes with healthy balanced meals and snacks to ensure you are getting a good intake of fresh food nutrients every day to help you lose weight and stay healthy.

What if I'm still hungry on the Celebrity Slim Trim Phase?

If you're sticking with the quantities suggested on the Celebrity Slim Programme and still seem to be hungry all the time, there are a few strategies you can use to manage your hunger. First of all, make sure you are truly hungry and not just wanting to eat out of habit - a trap that many of us fall into. If you are still truly hungry, try some of these suggestions:

  • Drink more water with your meals and snacks
  • Increase the portion size of each meal and snack by about 10% for a few days, and then slowly reduce it if you can.
  • Add a small handful of allowed nuts with a glass of water to each allowable snack meal.
  • Cut up allowable vegetables into sticks or chunks, such as celery, carrot and capsicum, keep them in the fridge, and munch on them when you get hungry
  • Add a small amount of olive oil, about 5ml, to you Celebrity Slim Shake. The oil will slow your digestion and help you to feel fuller for longer.

How come the Ready Meals are shelf ready, are they safe?

It is all to do with the manufacturing process. The product is partially pre-cooked and packed into the tray. The tray is sealed and then the pack undergoes further cooking at high pressures and temperatures. This process sterilises the product, whilst completing the cooking and means there are no microorganisms left alive inside the pack. Without these organisms there is nothing to break down the contents and make them "go off". The "retort" process has been used for years on similar products and much longer for items such as beans in a tin. This means the product is perfectly safe and fine to be shelf ready.
