Conjunctivitis
Conjunctivitis is a common eye condition which typically clears up on its own within a couple of weeks. It can cause your eyes to be red, itchy, watery, and even produce pus that sticks to your lashes.
What are the symptoms of conjunctivitis?
Symptoms of conjunctivitis include red, watery, itchy eyes that produce a pus that sticks to your eyelashes.
What causes conjunctivitis?
Conjunctivitis is caused by inflammation of the thin, clear layer of tissue that covers the white part of your eye. This can be caused by viruses, bacteria, allergens, or irritants.
How to treat conjunctivitis?
Dealing with conjunctivitis can be uncomfortable, but there are steps you can take to ease your symptoms at home. Boil water and, after letting it cool, gently clean your eyelashes with a cotton wool pad. Hold a cold flannel on your eyes for relief. Avoid wearing contacts until your eyes are better.
