Dry Eye
People with dry eye may not be producing enough lubricating tears or the ones they make are of poor quality which can lead to discomfort, irritation, and gritty eyes. It is usually not a serious condition and can be helped.
What are the symptoms of dry eye?
People with dry eye experience sore, red, blurry, and itching eyes, alongside a gritty feeling and a sensitivity to light.
What causes dry eye?
Dry eyes can be a real nuisance, and there are several factors that can make you more susceptible to this condition. If you're over 50, wear contacts, stare at screens all day, or frequent air-conditioned spaces, you may be more likely to develop dry eye.
What treatment is available for dry eye?
Our pharmacy team can guide you on self-care options or recommend products to relieve dry eye symptoms. Self-care options include things like cleaning your eyelids daily, taking regular screen breaks, using a humidifier, and give your eyes a break from contact lenses but there are eye drops, gels, and ointments available which can also help.
