Indigestion
Indigestion is a pain or discomfort in the stomach usually linked with eating. It’s a common problem that affects many people, but in most cases, it's mild and only occurs occasionally.
What are the symptoms of indigestion?
Symptoms of indigestion include experiencing a burning sensation behind your breastbone, feeling uncomfortably full, or having excessive belching or flatulence. Other signs of indigestion include bloating, nausea, and vomiting. Indigestion symptoms often start soon after eating or drinking, but sometimes they can be delayed.
What causes indigestion?
Indigestion is caused by excess stomach acid which irritates the stomach lining. The stomach acid breaks down the lining, leading to irritation and inflammation, which can be painful.
What are the treatment options?
