Period pain
Many women experience cramps and discomfort before and during their menstrual cycle. It can be annoying and painful, but it is just your body’s way of shedding the uterine lining. While this pain isn't usually a cause for concern, it can still be incredibly uncomfortable.
What are the symptoms of period pain?
The main symptom of period pain is that achy, cramping pain in your abdomen, lower back, or legs. You may also experience fatigue, bloating, diarrhoea, headaches, and mood changes.
How long does period pain last?
Period pain can vary from person to person, but typically lasts around 1-3 days. However, severe pain or discomfort that lasts longer may be a sign of underlying health issues. Speak to our pharmacy team for further advice.
How to treat period pain?
There are plenty of options to help you find relief. From using a hot water bottle to gentle exercise, and over-the-counter pain relief like paracetamol or ibuprofen. Our pharmacist can recommend the best treatment options for you. Keeping track of your period dates and symptoms can also be beneficial in managing your pain effectively.
