Sinusitis
Sinusitis is swelling of the nasal cavity, it causes stuffy, painful pressure and is common after a cold or flu. Although it can clear up on its own within a few weeks there are medicines which can help relieve your symptoms.
Symptoms of sinusitis include:
- A blocked nose with a reduced sense of smell
- Pain around eyes and forehead
- Swelling and/or tenderness around eyes and forehead
- A headache
Sinusitis symptoms in children
For young children affected by sinusitis symptoms also include irritability, difficulty breathing through their mouth and/or difficulty feeding.
How to recover from sinusitis
Get plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluids and try taking painkillers like paracetamol and ibuprofen.
Our pharmacist can recommend medicines that can help ease your symptoms including decongestant nasal sprays or salt water sprays. Nasal sprays should not be used for more than 1 week.
